1. Who we are
Flex 40 ("the app") is published by ShuffleUp LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what happens to information when you use the app. If anything here is unclear, email hello@flex40.app and we'll answer plainly.
2. Information you enter stays on your device
Everything you record in Flex 40 is written to a private SQLite database inside the app's own storage on your phone. This includes:
- Time entries — start and end times, durations, breaks, entry type, tags, case numbers and notes
- Pay configuration — hourly rates, overtime rules, pay period settings, comp time rules and balances
- Tax profile — filing status, dependents, state and local rates, and pre-tax deductions
- Paycheck records you log for comparison, and mileage you record
- App preferences, presets and milestone progress
We never receive any of it. There is no Flex 40 account, no login, and no automatic cloud sync. We cannot see your hours or your wages, we cannot recover them for you, and we cannot hand them to anyone else — including an employer, an insurer or a law-enforcement request — because we do not have them.
What this means if you lose your phone
Because your data is local, deleting the app or losing the device deletes your records. Use the app's Backup & Export feature to save a copy somewhere you control. Any file you export is yours — where it goes next is determined by you and by whichever app or service you send it to.
3. Data that does leave your device
Three third parties are involved in running the app. None of them receive your time entries, pay rates or paycheck records.
| Service | Why | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Apple / Google | Process the in-app purchase and deliver the app | Your payment and transaction details, handled under their own privacy policies. We never see your card details. |
| RevenueCat | Confirm you've unlocked Pro, and restore it on a new device | A randomly generated anonymous ID, your purchase receipt and basic device and country information. Not your name or email. |
| Expo | Deliver over-the-air app updates and stability information | Basic technical data such as app version, runtime version, platform and device type when the app checks for an update. |
That's the complete list. There is no advertising network, no tracking pixel, no Facebook or Google SDK, and no third-party analytics product in Flex 40.
4. What we do not do
- We do not sell or share your personal information — under the CCPA/CPRA definitions or any other.
- We do not track you across apps or websites, and we do not use the iOS advertising identifier.
- We do not show ads.
- We do not build profiles or make automated decisions about you.
- We do not ask for your name, email, phone number or employer.
5. Device permissions
Flex 40 asks for a permission only at the moment a feature needs it, and declining one only disables that feature.
- Files and photo library — to let you pick a backup file when restoring your data, and to save files you choose to export. Flex 40 does not browse, scan or upload your photos.
6. Children
Flex 40 is a workplace record-keeping tool intended for adults in the workforce. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. Since the app collects no personal information at all, there is nothing for us to delete — but if you have a concern, write to us.
7. Your rights
Privacy laws including the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA give you rights to access, correct, export and delete personal information a company holds about you. In Flex 40 those rights are satisfied directly on your device: your records are already in your sole possession, you can edit any of them, you can export them with Backup & Export, and you can erase all of them by deleting the app.
For purchase records, contact Apple or Google, who are the merchant of record for your transaction. To ask about the anonymous purchase record held by RevenueCat, email us with your transaction ID and we'll help you reach them.
8. Security
Your records are protected by your device's own operating-system sandbox and whatever passcode, Face ID or Touch ID you have enabled — the same protection applied to your other app data. Because nothing is transmitted to us, there is no server-side store of your information to be breached. Keeping your device updated and locked is the most effective thing you can do to protect it.
9. Estimates are not payroll advice
Flex 40 calculates pay, overtime and tax estimates for your own reference and record-keeping. It is not payroll, accounting, legal or tax advice, it does not replace your employer's official records, and figures may differ from your actual pay for many legitimate reasons. Always confirm a suspected discrepancy with your employer or payroll department before acting on it.
10. Changes to this policy
If we change how the app handles information, we'll update this page and move the "last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes. Since we hold no contact details for you, this page is the authoritative place to check.
